Alpha Delta Pi, founded in 1851, partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) in 1979 and since has raised over $12,680,000. As part of the We Believe... Campaign, Alpha Delta Pi set a goal of $1,000,000 by 2018.
Ronald McDonald House Charities works to keep "families together and near the medical care they need". Often times when children get sick their families have to travel far from home to receive the top medical care; this is where RMHC comes into play. RMHC host families of pediatric patients at no cost to the family. They are placed near leading hospitals worldwide in order to ensure no family has to be split up during this difficult time. In 2016 alone more than 5.5 million families stayed at Ronald McDonald House facilities. Since RMHC is a non-profit organization, all funds are collected from generous donors and partners, one of which being McDonald's.
Our Alpha Delta Pi chapter hosts events each semester in order to raise funds for RMHC. During the 2016-2017 year, they raised a total of $23,000. This year they will be hosting their annual philanthropy, Cheer Toss, where Greek organizations create teams, choreograph routines and compete in a cheerleading competition.
